A Week of Small Jobs: What Cowplain Shops and Services Can Hand to AI Agents
London Road businesses run by the person behind the counter: five small recurring jobs an AI agent can take, and a two-hour one-to-one session to set them up.
Owner-run village businesses can hand five small weekly jobs to AI agents: sorting weekend messages, nudging lapsed regulars, filing supplier paperwork, drafting social posts and summarising the week. Dean Keating, who publishes Cowplain.co, runs a 2-hour one-to-one session at £397 including VAT, in person or on Zoom, where you set those agents up on your own work.

London Road through the village is lined with the sort of businesses where the person who answers the phone is also the person who cuts the hair, pulls the pint, fits the filling or runs the counter: hairdressers and barbers, takeaways, a pharmacy, pubs, a garage, a dentist. When the day gets busy, the admin simply does not happen until later.
That later is the part AI agents can take on. An agent is a helper with one narrow job, a few rules and the tools it needs. It does the repeat work in the background, and a person decides the rules and approves anything that matters.
A week of small jobs, and who could do them
Monday: the weekend's messages. Messages and missed calls from Saturday and Sunday are waiting. An agent can sort them, draft a reply to each in your usual wording and give you a short list to approve in ten minutes.
Tuesday: the regulars who have gone quiet. Customers who book every few weeks and then drift away are easy to miss. An agent can draft a friendly "time for your next appointment?" message for you to review and send.
Wednesday: suppliers and paperwork. Order confirmations, delivery notes and receipts can be sorted into one tidy folder or sheet, ready for whoever does your books.
Thursday: the social post. Hand it three lines about a new special, a seasonal menu or a new treatment, and it hands back a draft post for you to polish.
Friday: the look-back. A one-page summary of the week's enquiries, bookings and loose ends, so you know where you stand before the weekend.
Not every shop needs all five. One or two usually matter far more than the rest, and the point of the exercise is to find them.
The rules are the hard part
An agent follows the instructions it is given. Which messages can it send by itself? What must it never say about prices or opening hours? Where should it look for the answers? Those depend on how your business really runs, and they are far easier to settle with somebody next to you, on your own screen, than from a general article.
Advert from the publisher: a 2-hour one-to-one AI session
Cowplain.co is published by Dean Keating, and what follows is his own offer. It is an advert for a service he sells. It is not a paid placement and it plays no part in how businesses are listed here.
The session itself: two hours, one to one. Together you choose the two or three jobs that eat most of your week, and Dean sets up AI agents on them live, in Claude or ChatGPT, on your own work. You go home with your setup and your prompts saved in your own account. It is not slides, it is not a course and it is not a chatbot.
Pick the setting that suits you: in person at his office in Waterlooville, at your business in Hampshire or Surrey, or on Zoom from anywhere in the UK. Dean is based in Horndean, Hampshire, the next village north of Cowplain.
The fee is £397 including VAT for the two hours. Sessions are for business use, so the buyer is a business. The booking page shows the live date, hides a slot as soon as it is sold and takes payment through Stripe; Dean confirms the time with you afterwards.
His background, in one fact: he runs his web agency and his network of local directory websites on AI agents, with more than 100 defined agent roles. He teaches the rule he works to: the AI does the repeat work, and a person sets the rules and approves what matters. He makes no promise about how much time or money you will save, since that depends on your business and what you hand over.
